Longleaf week / Ficus binnendijkii
Easy to care for, that can survive in low light! Better than other figs at tolerating dryness in room air. Suitable for a bright, well-lit spot in scattered or partial shade, but not too hot in direct sunlight. In a place with no light, it may start to drop its leaves. Do not place in a very draughty place in winter.
The plants are watered when the surface soil has dried out a little. If the soil is too wet or dry, the plant may start to shed its leaves. There is no need to replant every spring, as the plant will thrive in a slightly smaller pot.
Longleaf figs can be cut in spring. Pruning helps to keep the plant fresh.
Cuttings can be rooted.
